Tapas: Design for Food

Crossing borders, breaking down barriers, is the essence of the power to communicate.

Today we must say that never before we had been in Tokyo. We also didn’t know Japanese. The "TAPAS, Spanish Design for Food" an exhibition organized and designed by Acción Cultural Española (AC / E) (Spanish Cultural Action) intended to go beyond the limits on culinary creativity and to do it, it had to start crossing borders of half the world. And we had to go along.

So we did, and we surprised ourselves negotiating in English-Japanese so that nothing would stand in the way. We produced exhibition stands where more than 200 design objects for kitchen, table, food and wine from Spain were displayed and curated by architect and designer Juli Capella, and that would bring innovation in the food sector, both in the United States (Miami and Washington) and in Asia (Tokyo and Seoul) and we were not only the bridge but the ones responsible for carrying out the installation simultaneously on two different continents.

Sometimes crossing borders means literally to cross your own limits.
